Anyone planning to go to the Lincoln GP tomorrow?

Great cycling action shots to be had.

I was going to go but I wasn't very well so didn't make it. It was a real shame for me as I've taken part in the race 3 times in my youth and would of loved to get some shots. Always next year I suppose.

When was that? We may have raced together...

I was racing from 16 to 20 and I'm nearly 48 now, so it was around 30 years ago. I wasn't in a club though, I was working for a cycle wholesalers and they were my independant sponsor. I was told "build a bike from whatever you want, cost isn't an issue" so I was like a kid in a sweetshop lol.

I see. I raced from 88-93 so I doubt we competed. Lincoln GP was a toughie though....:gag:

It was a 100 mile race in my day, 5 long laps of going over cobbles (Steep Hill) on the way down and the steepest hill in the town I think (Spring Hill). Was a killer of a race but my lowest finish was 18th and best was 8th. I've no idea how they manage the Tour De France, 200+ miles every day for over a fortnight, it really didn't appeal to me the day after Lincoln.
