Hi Guys,

I am in need/want a new PC. I have been sat with a laptop for ages and it does what I need now n then but I really want to start playing PC games again rather than stuff from Good old Games.

I have limited space as I don't want to be 'locked away' in the spare bedroom from by OH while using the PC, since she watches soaps allot I sit on my laptop working or playing. We have little time together due to work commitments weekdays sadly.

In an ideal world I would like a full desktop solution rather than a laptop simply because they are cheaper and expandable, therefore have a longer shelf-live.

The space in question is in my living room I still want to sit on my Sofa and there is a wall behind me that I could put power on.

I would like to avoid cables running around the room if possible and I have considered a wireless transmission of Video from the PC to a monitor mounted on a bracket. Wireless headphones/Keyboard/mouse. But I cant find what I am looking for.

Has anyone got any ideas?

Thanks

Jon

I'm sure that you can get wireless video senders . I would like to think what the frame rate would be like though , not very good id presume . Keyboard , mouse and headphones are easily come by . There are loads out there if you have a good look on Google . I'm still wired though on desktop , but use a Bluetooth mouse with my netbook and can't fault it . It's a logitech model , and does what it says on the tin .

Hmm I kinda seen the tech IRL and I am only taking 2m distance from the base so I dont think the frame rate will be an issue as they claim 10/15m Line of Sight with no dropoff.

My main issue really is where do I put the monitor I was thinking on some kind of bracket that can come from the wall but be folded away when not in use. and I could run the power cable along or internal to the monitor through the bracket?

I was in a similar issue, I wanted to play games, my wife wanted to watch TV. I purchased a HDMI splitter and put it on the output from the PS3. I then had a 5m HDMI cable with I plugged into a 24" monitor and had some headphones with a 5m cable.

I then sat there and played PS3 on a 24" monitor sitting on a footstool just in front of me listening to it on headphones.

You can easily do this with a PC, the issues are the controls for the games, ie using a mouse on the sofa

HI Dale,

Thanks for the reply I had the same thought, what do you do with your monitor when not in use? My idea was to attach it to a bracket behind me and have it come around me so I can see it, therefore keeping things neat.

Mine just gets put away in the dining room
