looking for advice on a lightweight tripod I have a Manfrotto 055prob witch is good for my hight ( 6'3" ) but getting I'm getting old could do with something lighter will be using Nikon D850 with sigma 150-600 c budget about £250

What does your Manfrotto weigh? and is it carbon or aluminium?

With that combo your ball head is going to have to remain sturdy and therefore just as heavy. The Carbon version is 400g less than the aluminium. I use a Benro but still 2.1kg with head and my long lens and body at a lot lighter than d850 and 150-600.

I also have the 055prob, had it for years and do like it, upgraded to the newer 055 and not sure it's for me. I then bought a 755CX3 which I quite like as it's less weight so I'm going to have a test with them this week and decide what's getting kept.

For info the 055 is 2.5Kg on the kitchen scales and the 755CX3 is 2Kg both legs only no heads

Benro Mach 3 range. The 38CL model has longer leg sections Im a similar hieght to you and this at full leg extension sits at eyelevel with a head an body. I remove the centre section and replace it with the supplied short section, this saves another 150g. Paid £320 though so a little out of your budget although there may be sales. I would look at a lighter ball head as 900g seems excessive. A Surui KX40 ball head would shave 200g but again £150
