hi was just wondering wether the people that have upgraded from lightroom 4 to 5 actually think its worth it

Hi, I upgraded but think I was a little bit presumptuous as there are a few bugs and thus far Adobe have not put out any fixes that I no of.
I think you may find better answers to your question here http://www.lightroomforums.net/forum.php as it is confined to L/R.

cheers for the advice guys ill have a look at the forums suggested. main reason i was wondering is i have cs6 and corel pp x5 and lightroom 4. so might hold off for now

I didn't think the differnce in capability between v3.6 and 4 was worth the extra cost.

I'm begginning to think I will go for V5 though. The additional enhancements I still see as a minor increase in capability but I'm worried about Adobe making LR go into their cloud subscription model and this will be the last stand alone version.

Downside for me is that it wont run on Vista so I need to update that as well.

There may well be a difference between the process versions but since I'm very happy with my images being processed by v3.6 I didn't feel the need to upgrade. I certainly wasn't going to go back over the collection and re-process them.

Some of the Highlight/Shadow recovery improvements were good but again not enough to grab my attention.

Adobes updates are always, in my opinion, too much money for too little improvement so I usually skip a generation or two.

If LR had improved the Print Module to my liking it might have been worth it but I still do most printing from PS CS4.

The Book Module was so so - again just my opinion - and limited to Blurb only that it also held no value for me.

Ditto the MAP/GPS module which I found inflexible compared with my current method of using Geo-setter.

So, no I wasn't laughing, just expressing my opinion.;)

I have LR4 but won't upgrade to LR5 for the new clone/healing tool as I also have PSE11

Well gave in and got lightroom 5 so once I have a play with it we shall see if it was worth it lol

You don't have to. All your previously processed images will be as you edited them. There will just be a small triangle in the bottom corner to inform you that it is not using an old process version.

I've found the 2012 process version a bit difficult to come to terms with, as I was very happy and adept with the previous version, but I think I'm finally getting my head around it now, and it does seem better.

Only you can say whether any upgrades are worth the money. :)
