Lightroom workflow with Sony RX100

Need help please!

The RX100 has the same (crazy) filing system as the NEX series in that phots, MP4 and AVCHD are all kept in seperate folders on the SD card.

With any other camera I've had, Lightroom 3 will upload phots and videos at the same time from the SD card. With the Sony it will only upload the phots (and leaves the vidoes invisible - to me anyway).
At the moment I'm inserting the card, uploading the phots to LR then deleting them from the card, reinserting the card and uploading the videos (AVCHD) using Windows. This, of course, leaves the videos out of LR.

There must be smarter way, surely??
Thanks in anticipation;)

Save them to the folder of your choice.
Open Lightroom.
Select Import from the lower left pane.
Under Source browse to the folder you saved them too.
Lightroom will automatically select all videos in that folder you haven't already imported.
Select Import from the lower right corner.
Wait for the import to complete.
Voila, you are done.

This process is second nature to me because it is the only process I use for all images. I always manually copy my images to a specific folder, named "sorting", before I import them. Then I import that entire folder and then move the images from there to whatever folders they belong in within my Lightroom folder structure. There may be more to do to put them in your collections or categories though, as I don't use those. I prefer that when I move an image to a group it actually moves to that specific folder so I know where it is actually located.

Thanks, have tried this and the problem appears to be that LR3 doesn't appear to recognise AVCHD files - any suggestions?

Further, it would appear that LR 3 does not support AVCHD. I have downloaded LR4 and can confirm it does support these files - problem solved.
