Does anyone have any actual experience of obtaining the above?

Is it exactly the same as the full priced edition?

How does one qualify to purchase? My wife works at The University of Manchester and I’m sure she’d get any documentation approved.

Any further help would be appreciated.

(Please don’t suggest I look at Adobes website, I have and it’s horrendous. Any search you do always takes you to their Creative Cloud section of the website, which no doubt they’re pushing like Billy Oh)

Thanks in advance,

Pete

I bought Lightroom 3 on the student license. It doesn't come with a license key. You email the proof of student/ teacher which I got of my sons school to Adobe and they email the license key. I will buy lightroom 6 this way when it is released.

Thank you all very much for your comments and help. Just need to wait for LR6 to be released now.

Pete.

One thing to be aware of is that student licenses usually do not allow commercial use, so if you are going to be making any money from your photography then it shouldn't be used. If you aren't, then no problem.

Thanks for the advice Brian, but no, purely amateur.

Er, yes they do.....LINK
Thanks for that, and it's why I said usually, though I am sure that in the past they haven't. They must have decided that as it wasn't possible to check, they would change the rules. Now, I am sure I have an old NUS card around somewhere ;)

You can get some great savings quite legitimately on educational software. When I retired I bought one of Adobe's megasuites, plus MS Office and a few other programs all at a substantial discount. To Qualify I enrolled on a 10-point Open University course for around £100.

Agreed, though I did manage to get MS Office Pro 2013 through work for the princely sum of £8.95!

The office home purchase License scheme is only available whilst at the employer, as soon as you leave your license is invalid. Although Microsoft have no way of checking this (I know this because I set the scheme up here)
