Lightroom smart collection black and white not working on virtual copies ?

Lightroom 3

Created a filter is not colour

Which returns nothing unless it is a master which has been converted to black and white

So to try and get virtual copies to work i have a filter which states is copy included or something similar

Still not working?

Yes I recently spotted some bugs in smart collections with negatives. That's in v5

I think in this case, it's that the "color" filter doesn't do what you might think. I _think_ it filters for files that aren't greyscale. So a B&W picture expressed in RGB colour space counts as colour.

If you think about it, finding a genuine B&W image is actually computationally quite hard.

Probably lying best to use a keyword or one of the other options (a star, or colour) to indicate they are b&w yourself, and then set the collection to look for that.
