Lightroom slideshow problem - help, please

When I try to run a slideshow in Lightroom after approx. 20 slides the screen dims and the slideshow stops. This is despite the fact that I have my energy saver preference set to "never" and is not due to a corrupt slide as it happens in all slide shows.

Any suggestions?
 
I often have the same problem and have assumed it was a glitch rather than a faulty setting. Closing and reopening Lightroom seems to solve the problem to an extent for me if I run the slideshow immediately on opening again.

Hi, which version are you using and what's the OS?

It could be that you need to build the previews:

Ctrl A to select all in the folder (or manually select each pic);
Library / Previews / Render 1:1 Previews

Well worth a try
 
Thanks for the suggestions. Have now changed settings for computer and screen to "never" turn off and it now seems to be working; although bizarrely not working when set to 3 hours!!
