I was wondering how everyone has their screens set up for Lightroom? I have just bought a 27" monitor and I have had a dual monitor setup previously with two 21 inch monitors.

I was thinking of having the 27 inch monitor as my main screen and setting up the best of the 21 inchers as a second screen, but set up Portrait rather than landscape. That way I can have the best of both worlds for portrait or landscape images.

Has anyone tried this?

Lightroom implementation of dual screen is bloody awful. I gave up on it ages ago.

I guess it depends on what you want on your second monitor.

I have a 27" as my primary and a 24" as a secondary. The 27" displays the "normal" Lightroom display. The 24" displays the chosen photo in full screen. It requires a simple single click to achieve this. Simples!

Makes a lot of sense, I think having two different displays is useful for checking calibration etc. too, if the images looks similar and good on both that's a decent indication it's all right.
I only have a laptop so the screen is fairly small and have a old 17" 4:3 screen above it for full screen, it's one of the next things on my list to buy a bigger and better second screen and I've considered putting it on a stand or something so I can rotate landscape/portrait as required.
