Hi guys

I just have a question regarding lightroom on 2 different formats.
I have an external hard drive with my lightroom catalog attached to the windows laptop..

I have used this to backup all my files but I'd like to use this catalog on my Mac now as this is where I will be editing the images from now on.

I did read that OS X can't natively write to NTFS formatted drives like the one I am using so I would need to offload all my images onto the Mac and re-format to FAT32.

So after doing this, does that mean that if I wanted to backup my files on location using this same extrernal hard drive, I would have to format it back to NTFS to make it possible?
Seems a bit annoying that this has to happen if this is the case.

Any ideas round this? or do I really have to take this approach?

Thanks

You shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet.

Also, I don't understand why you would need to reformat to NTFS. Pretty much all PCs can access Fat drives (it's how memory cards are generally formatted).

Thank you for the info. The link is especially useful. Appreciate that.
