I have been using Lightroom 4 lately for post editing & so on; but the only difference I can see between editing Raw & Jpeg files is the ability to change the white balance.

In Jpeg you can still change exposure, highlights & shadows etc as well as noise reduction & so on; so my question is.. Is the benefit of Raw shooting mainly for post white balance editing? Or do you get better results editing exposure, highlights & shadows ect in Raw than you would Jpeg?

Thanks

Try to recover blown highlights in RAW and then the same shot JPEG, you my find that there is nothing there in the JPEG.

Every element of post processing is better with a RAW file.

The more editing you do, the better RAW is.

If you are getting 99% right in camera, for your look then Jpeg, otherwise RAW RAW RAW.
