Lightroom question

Not as far as I know. If you are any good at SQL scripting,( I'm not) you may be able to get something that way. As far as I am aware its only the actual lens data that is available from within Lightroom

By creating a plugin for LR and doing it the "neat & tidy" way or cut LR out of the equation entirely and just work directly with the db file.

not sure but in Bridge you can filter by lens, Fstop, shutter well any part of teh EXIF
Guess you ming beable to.
As indeed Chaz, one can accomplish using Lightroom, very easily too.

Totally unhelpful and unnecessary post Chaz. The OP is asking about Lightroom, not what you know about Adobe Bridge.

Looking forward to the results

I'm pretty sure it is there in the library module as standard, as you can display the focal length from the EXIF. I'm not at my Mac now, but will double check later.
