I have just put LR5 onto my computer. I am have problems when i want to delete photos. it keeps telling me there are no rejected photos to delete???????? i am sure this will be something basic.

The way I do it is right click on the photo and select "remove photo".

Where are you in LR when you try this, and what are you doing to try and delete anything.

Usually there is an option of removing images from the LR catalogue (the default option) or deleting them altogether from cat and disc.

Away from home and my mac until tomoro night. I will try and log onto tomorrow night and give more details.

On my mac (and I admit I'm new to LR5), I just hit backspace and I'm given the option of removing from library or removing from library and hard disk.

In Library mode in the Grid view, select one or more thumbnails and press the backspace/delete button, which gives the option to remove it only from LR, (thereby retaining it on its home folder) or completely to trash.

You must be clicking on "delete rejected photos" in the drop-down menu. For that to operate you must have photos already marked as rejected. The methods mentioned above will bypass this.

The thread hijack isn't very helpful to the topic.
