Lightroom loading quick question

I used to shoot RAW and Jpeg and when I loaded photo's onto LR3 sometimes switching between photo's I would get a short load delay. The colours would change after this load and I presumed it was loading the Jpeg colours onto the raw as a starting point?

Now I only shoot Raw I have noticed it still does this, is it loading camera style presets? I thought it shouldn't do that?

Why are the colours changing?
 
Have you got actions on import, you can create a preset to perform action on importing, maybe its doing that.
 
If you have other than full size previews selected on import, you do get a short delay when opening the full size shot from the preview.
 
You can set it so that lightroom applies it's profile to the thumbnails too, this will stop the colours changing on loading individual images but does make import slower as it does it then instead. (Actually it might do it every time you open that catalog, can't remember!)
 
Ah ok, so it's just lightroom loading it's own profile?

Thanks for the replies, I don't mind the half second delay I was just curious as to what was being loaded and why :)
