Lightroom - Keywords and Metadata

Although I've had Lightroom 5 for a while, I've never really made much use of Keywords and Metadata.

Recently missus and I went on Safari to Zambia, where we knew we would be taking a lot of images. Prior to going we attended a photography course run by Sue Flood, Cindy Miller Hopkins and Stephen Johnson, where one of the recurring messages was to utilise the databasing capability of Lightroom via Keywords and Metadata.

Having just spent the last few days sorting through and tagging up the few thousand images we captured in Zambia; all I can say is 'why have I not got my noggin around this stuff before'?

I now have a much better appreciation of how powerful Lightroom is for image management. I'm sure there are other tools out there (Stephen prefers something else), but Lightroom will do for me for now at least.

So praise where it's due, well done Lightroom team.

Indeed... you can add certain keywords on import too, and wait till you get your head around keyword lists

I bang on about this all the time, it's a workflow tool and the libabry module is HUGELY powerful. Keyword on import, always, it's just another great way of searching for images.

It's really worth watching the tutorials, just to get the idea behind it all
