Yes
Can you still buy lightroom 5 in actual shops? i don`t want the long term commitment of monthly subscription ,plus i have the cash in my wallet.

Well, if you count Amazon as a shop - yes.

The rumour about LR moving over to subscription-only is pure FUD.

There are a few places that sell it retail Calumet for example but all you are buying is a card with a key on it you still have to go home and download the software might as well just buy it online.

WEX, John Lewis. Probably as above though.

Can't recall where I got mine, as it is badged 'sold only as a special event offer' so it might have been at a show such as The Photography Show, Computer Show, or SWPP type event.

The other issue is that if you go out and buy it, then even though you have it on disk, as soon as you go to install the updates it will make you download the full ~1GB installer to update in any case - no simple patching for Adobe!

My sons internet in his new house has a 1gb a day limit (yes crazy) but it is what it is. He buys some software on disks, or downloads large things at my house.
Not everybody wants to have their computers on line, my main editing computers have no internet connection for safety.

It`s because i have cash and want to use it rather than use my bank

As has been suggested, John Lewis etc may have them in store - might be worth looking on line to see if you can do a reserve in store, then you can buy it in store, my only issue with this is you may be paying more for it (ie full price)

Heres a devious plan for you. Go to sainsburys, and buy Amazon vouchers with the cash you have, then go on to Amazon and buy the software using the vouchers :D
Now that`s brilliant and devious lol
