I have just returned from holiday in Croatia and have 500 shots, most of which need washed-out skies 'repairing'. Is there anything I can do in Lightroom to mass edit all of these photos even though their requirements are slightly different - some need more tone adding than others.

Any help much appreciated.

The short answer is "not really". Anything you would want to do with the blues would alter blues in seas/clothes etc. But you could add a graduated filter to one until you're happy with it and synchronise the rest. It would then be a matter of manually amending the filter in each one a tad.

I would say the same as Aberal. There is one thing you could try but you may end up with a lot of un-wanted colour changes. First make the adjustments you want to one photo then make a preset out of the adjustments like in this vid

then go back to your library and select all the photo's you want to edit. Right click one of the photo's and go down to develop and and find your preset. Hope this helps as it was only a quick thought before I shoot out to do my shopping

If they were shot as jpegs then probably not, it's unlikely there's enough information to tweak.

If they were raw files then yes, add a graduated filter with a negative exposure, then add a second filter for contrast.

i plonk around with a grad filter on the software
but it has its shortcomings as the defining edge is horizontal

if i had the option i would use a grad or pola
