My wife always complains that she never gets to see many of the pictures I take and I noticed that you can now get Lightroom for Apple TV and I just wondered if there has been any rumours that an app is being produced for normal smart tv's as we have a nice Sony 55" one in the lounge and thought that could be a nice easy way of displaying my pictures shortly after editing.

Anyone aware of anything ?

Many thanks

Tony

If you have a i.pad you can view your pics on screen with your Apple TV ,especially there on Flickr

With the right setup, you could also cast direct to your tv from your pc.

If you let us know what tv and pc components you have, it will be easier to advise.

Sorry for the late response. Life's been a little hectic recently.

It's a Sony Bravia 2015 (55") and it says the device name is KDL-55W805C

I could just buy an Apple TV unit but it feels pointless when the Lightroom app may be available now or soon as everything else I use is already built in (Netflix etc)

Just create a slideshow in LR. Put it on a memory stick and plug that onto TV. Works well with little effort.

Looks like you've got an android TV so can you access Google Photos? If so, simply publish from LR to Google Photos.

There's many ways it can be done using Android TV, buying an Apple TV just for Lightroom would be overkill IMO

Yes I agree that's why I was just wanting to download an easy to use app like Lightroom

I can't find a Google Photos app on the TV. Are you sure it's available on tv and not just phones etc ?

I was hoping to be able to keep it all on one platform that why I was thinking about Lightroom as it's on my Mac, iPad and iPhone already.

I'll do some checking but would be highly shocked if Google didn't provide an app for this, if it's not integrated already!

Not wishing to cast aspersions but is there an element of wanting an APPLE TV to match up with everything else? I know nowt about i stuff but can see the logic in having just one platform for everything.
Could be a case of want rather than need but if you have the cash sat in the bank earning zero interest then why not go for it? Get some benefit from your lucre.

There doesn't seem to be one that's accessible on the tv but maybe it's my searching that's going wrong lol

We had an Apple TV unit until a few months ago which we used for Netflix on the bedroom tv and previously I had used it to "mirror" my iPad and phone etc very successfully but it packed in and I replaced it with an Amazon Firestick ( half price and excellent for Netflix, Iplayer etc )

I could buy another Apple TV for the downstairs 55" Sony but I only want it to display photos as it does everything else we need already.

I noticed that the Apple TV now has the facility to add a Lightroom App (for display only, not editing) and as that is all I really want I am prepared to wait a while to see if the App becomes available for general smart tv use.
