Ive got a 55-250mm IS II canon lens (previously used a borrowed non II) and come into a problem.

Lightroom has a lens profile for the old one, picks it up on auto and applies so no problems.
However it DOESNT have a profile for the v2 lens which has a different lens ID but is optically identical - to get adjustments i have to go into every shot, choose custom, select canon etc.

Is there any way to copy the profile from the old lens and apply it to this new lens ID as well?

(i dont need to create a new profile, simply apply an existing one to another lens id)

You could make a preset with the lens correction set to the 55-250 profile that only applies to the lens corrections.

Then that would be very quick to use and batch apply.

Ive done that as a stop gap for now. The main reason i want a proper one is i often do a shoot using multiple lenses and my default develop preset has "auto" set. Previously this auto applied the correct profile to each picture depending on the lens used.
With this new lens it's leaving the 55-250 II lens correction blank as theres no default/auto profile detected so ive got to do it manually.

I could make a full new profile by shooting the test charts but that seems an awful lot of effort for a lens thats optically identical to a profile it already has and all thats changed is the cosmetic appearance.

Doeds the lens profile creator not have the ability to load, edit and save profiles?
