Lightroom copyright watermark

In Lightroom 2 you can add a copyright watermark on export but this just seems to be uneditable text in the bottom left hand corner. Is there any way of exporting images with a transparent watermark across the centre of the image?
 
Also interested in this as the watermarks LR adds are easily cropped out.

I don't think there is. :'(
I have used the copyright in metadata but suddenly on exporting the font size has changed and is so small as to be almost invisible. I have spent three weeks trying to get an answer from Adobe support. One of their totally useless replies told me to follow this link:

I did and it clearly states "The size, placement, and appearance of the watermark cannot be edited or customized."

So didn't answer my problem but does appear to answer your question - it looks as if it is fixed. If I get any further response from Adobe support which deals with my problem will let you know.
 
Use a plug-in called LRmogrify. You can apply a copyright text or image upon export and is very customisable. It's donation-ware but worth every penny of however much you decide to donate!
 
Another vote for Mogrify here, well worth the donation!
