Hi,

I recently photographed a wedding, and provided the clients with the usual colour, and selected mono images. They have now requested all images in black and white too.

I use Lightroom, and was thinking;

1. Create a new collection and copy all the final colour images over to the new collection called say "final mono"
2. Select all the images in final mono, and create a virtual copy
3. Filter the images by attribute where metadata contains the word copy
4. Tag then with the word mono
5. Remove any colour images from the collection
6. Work on the mono images, by creating a preset and tweaking the odd image here and there if required

Is there an easy way to do this, am I being a bit long winded?

thanks

You could simply work on the images you already have in the collection as B&W as the whole idea about Lightroom is it's no destructive. You will still have the colour data for those images.

Should you need to revert to colour you could reimport ( under a slightly different name, )or simply use the Reset button to revert the mono images to colour.

Should the couple want the odd image in colour, simply select the mono version, make a virtual copy, and revert the copy to colour.

However if you want both versions, I can't think of fewer steps.

If ive read it correctly, As you're copying the final photos across rather than moving them, you don't have to create a virtual copy just process to mono.
