Hi,

I have the LR Classic CC (non-subscription) package, and noticed that it doesn't have the range mask option showing. I have updated it to to 6.14 but it still doesn't show. Do I need to turn this on somewhere? It looks a very useful mask but i can't see it in my version :(

Thanks

It looks like you don't have the latest version

Lightroom Range Mask: Which Versions Is It Available In?
The Range Mask is, as of January 18, 2018, available only in Lightroom CC Classic v. 7.0, which was released in October 2017. While it’s not yet available in the cloud-based Lightroom CC, I suspect that it will make its way there eventually.

My understanding is that the non subscription LR is now called LR Classic CC.

No... LR Classic is the subscription version, the last standalone version was 6.XX which will not have the range masking feature. I am afraid to get that feature you need to subscribe to CC.

Ok thanks. Looks like I may have to cave in and subscribe.

Can I still keep my original one too?

Yes, CC will install in its own location, simply make sure you keep a copy of your catalogue as it will need updating for CC and will no longer work with 6.xx (I think there is an option to save the current catalogue, but cannot remember, away from my copy at the moment)

Thanks. I guess it was only a matter of time. I do begrudge paying for PS when I don’t use it. But I guess I may need to learn it now.
