Lightroom Classic 14.2 painfully slow doing gradients and masks

It does seem tough given I have the latest W11 and LR Classic but do not have the problems that you are having. Hope it gets resolved soon.

Dave

Yes me to Dave, I am going to contact Adobe to see if they have a fix for this. I also forgot to mention, I actually uninstalled LRC yesterday in the hope a new install might help, anyway when I went to reinstall it, the Adobe creative cloud account was saying my PC wasn't compatible, so I tried and tried but it wouldn't let me reinstall, however when I restarted my PC it let me reinstall the program, but again nothing has changed, so I'm hoping Adobe have some answers, because it's not making sense that some folk are having no issues whatsoever, and some are having serious issues :headbang:

Just seen this when I clicked on the system info in LRC according to the info I am running windows 8 business edition, which is clearly wrong

Errrr!

Surely LRC is simply(?) looking at that data and you showed that you are using W11 in your OP....very strange :headbang:

I assume you have applied all the updates. There was fix for LRC showing the wrong operating system on W11, although this was W10 rather than W8.

LRC update

Well an update on this. I found out the problem, with the help of Adobe, really bloody stupid on my part really, but a couple of months ago I was doing some edits on a few images in LRC they all involved radial and linear masks, which are generally power hungry, when I finished I put them through Topaz for upscaling to see how they would be, but when I transferred them back to LR the file sizes where very big, so every one I was working on were the ones from Topaz, and it was the very large size of the files which were causing the problem, I never even looked at any others in the same folder which I hadn't put through, as it didn't really occur to me to do so, so I actually tried a few others today and they processed in LR as they should, I think what threw me was the fact that when I had put them through PS and camera raw, the radial/linear masks worked fine, so I couldn't understand why not in LR as essentially they are both camera raw. Anyway lesson learnt, and after all the panicking I feel like a right plonker Rodney :LOL::LOL:

Glad you got it sorted (y)

Yes I tried earlier in PS and everything worked as it should all quick and snappy, which is odd considering LR is ACR as well.
Apparently, LR and ACR aren't the same. They both use the same underlying engine, but how they interact with that engine is slightly different. This is why I assume new features sometimes come to ACR before they come to Lightroom.

Occasionally, people make comparisons, and the impression I get, is that if you don't need the catalogue, ACR is a subtly better user experience.
