Yes
Does anyone know of any deals on the lightroom CC before I purchase?

I know that Olympus were doing a reduced rate on the package for a while, but I think it expired, plus there is a US one currently running.

If you are a 500px user (or even if you aren't), they are doing a combined 500px paid account that includes the LR/PS CC for a reduced rate. Deal runs out soon and the email I had earlier said it was now on sale for $12.49 a month - whether you can sign up to this from the UK and whether it would then have VAT added or not I have no idea, but might be worth looking.

Edited to add link and correct price.

I received an email the other day offering a 15% discount for the first year as a "Canon CPS member" :) on the Adobe Creative Cloud Photography plan which includes Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC - maybe Nikon (NPS) will be offering something similar to their members?

Spooky, I have just received the 500px email!!!!

Thanks for the info lostsoula2, I will also look into this

Can I use the offer even if a Nikon user ?? I know stupid question but just thought I'd ask.

I was certainly never asked for proof of owning a Fuji, didn't even ask me the question.

Thanks for the replies - off to sign up and download

One last question - this does download both Lightroom and Photoshop onto Laptop - I don't have to be connected to wifi to use them ?

Yes they are standalone versions. And the licence says that you can use them on two machines, like a laptop and a pc at home, or a Mac and a Macbook.

I though you need the Adobe cc app connected to net?

Only to update, or download them, afaik.

This from the Adobe forums....

2. If I am "offline" (no internet accessibility) is it true that in as little as 7 days all of my Cloud licensed applications will be revoked even if my Monthly subscription is up to date?

Per the Creative Cloud FAQ here http://www.adobe.com/products/creativecloud/faq.html under General information the answer to question Do I need ongoing Internet access to use my Creative Suite applications? the anwer provided is: "Because your Creative Suite applications are installed directly on your computer, you will not need an ongoing Internet connection to use them on a daily basis. However, you will need to be online when you install and license your software, and at least once every 30 days thereafter. The software will alert you when you need to connect to the Internet for a license status check." The license status check has a 7 day grace period. So you just need to check in once every 30 days.
