Lightroom captions

Just a quick question, can't find the answer with Google.

Lightroom keeps correcting (R) into ® when I type captions, how do I disable this?

Is this definitely happening in Lightroom, or are you typing the captions up in Word first?

Might be a keyboard setting, rather than Lightroom.

In Lightroom, although it could be a setting on my mac that's to blame.

Ok then, the next question is how do I change this setting on my mac?

Hmm. To get the (R) you hold down the option key and R.

Not sure if typing (R) converts it as you describe without a setting (I know in Windows it is in the auto correct settings). Will try it on my MBP tomorrow.

Update:

Try this

Open System Preferences.
Select Personal, then Language and Text.
Choose the Text tab along the upper area of the window.
Uncheck the tick box next to (R)

OR

Uncheck the box next to Correct spelling automatically.
Close the window.
