Hi all.

I am wanting to make use of tethered capture in Lightroom 4.1, but, I cannot get it to work.

I am using a Canon EOS 1100D, the EOS utility works fine, but, would love to be able to do it through Lightroom instead, is this possible ?

If so, am I doing something wrong or missing some software ?

In addition, when starting the tethered capture in lightroom, it IS seeing the camera in the capture bar, but, no settings for aperture, iso or anything else and the capture button does not work, I am totally baffled.

Well, looks like my camera isn't supported, can a mod delete this post please, thanks.

I tried the auto import, but, it doesn't auto import them, just brings up the import screen with the taken picture ready to be imported.

I created a watched folder in the canon EOS utility, then, in the auto import options in Lightroom, I chose the watched folder for it to grab the images from and a folder in my pictures for the pictures to be moved to.

I followed a tutorial on YouTube.

The photos are being taken and are going into the folder, but, instead of it automatically importing them and going onto the screen showing the imported images, it just shows the import screen, with the location on the left and destination on the right.

Here is a full rundown of what is happening when I take a picture with the EOS utility....

I have Lightroom open in one monitor screen, the EOS on another monitor screen, so, both running side by side, I cannot take a photo using the camera shutter button as when I look through the viewfinder, I just get "busy" when I try.
So, I use the EOS utility, which has been setup to save any photo's to a folder on my desktop called photowatch, I press the capture button, the image is taken, a quick preview opens (EOS utility), and in Lightroom, the Import window appears wanting me to press the import button, the image I have taken is being shown there.
Shouldn't it automatically import the image into the lightroom program and just display it in readiness for me to make any changes ?

If I then hit the import button, I get an Import Results box and it says "Some import operations were not performed"..........."The file could not be found (1)" then the name of a JPG file.

Unfortunately, I'm not a Canon user so don't know how EOS utility works but I would have thought the photo would automatically appear in Lightroom if the Auto Import utility has been setup and is pointed st the correct photo.

Sorry I can't help any further but hopefully a Canon user may come along and be able to help you out.

I have sorted it, no idea how, but, it works now, lol, typical, you mess around with settings and it just, works.
