Lightroom and lost photos. Any Help???

It looks like i have lost a load of photos on my laptop? they are showing in my Lightroom 3 catalogue, yet have a question mark in the right hand upper corner. I cannot export, or modify the photos as it comes up with a message along the lines of "missing folder". Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
Find the drive letter and right click - synchronize should sort it.

Edit you may of moved it, see above post.

not in the recycling bin. really struggling here. not too hot on computers!:(

Lightroom as with a lot of programs are only showing a LINK to the folder, they don't actually exist in lightroom.
The folder has been moved from its original place on your hard drive so all you need to do is delete the previous Library folder and find the original folder and re-import it to the Library.
If the originals are there then don't move them after you import them or it will not be able to locate it again.

I hope this make sense to you, I know its easy when you know it, so any problems just ask.

Edit: or put the folder back in its original position.

really can';t find them at all. the thumbnails are there. all my honeymoon snaps are on there. i'm gutted

I have been running round like a headless chicken since coming back off our honeymoon, and i believe i have deleted the files by mistake from "my pictures" files. Sure, a backup would have been a good move, but alas, two loads of parents and wedding guests wanting to see the photos, plus a trip to thorpe park and chessington at the weekend, really havent left me with much time to do backups.
 
If they are on a Laptop and they are important files, I would take it to a computer expert in recovery of files.
The thumbnails are only there because it was the last state you left lightroom.
Something this important needs an expert, so don't go messing with it, you may make things worse.
I hope you get them back ok.
 
well i am curently letting a bit of file recovery software chug through my deleted files and so far it has shown 1100 plus photos have been found. so fingers crossed, eh?

Sounds promising. You could try running the same software on your memory cards as well. It's amazing just how much is still on them.
