Lightroom and Aperture Pic Sharpness

I've got lightroom 2 and the Aperture 3 trial,the uploaded pictures look sharper in aperture 3 is their a reason for this:thinking:
 
what settings were you using in both?
 
Are you importing RAW or JPEGs?

What sharpening adjustments did you apply to the picture in each package? Or did you just import the pictures and do nothing with them?

If you're working with RAW files, Aperture applys some sharpening to the pic when it's imported. The amount depends on the profile it has set for your particular camera. I don't know if LightRoom does similar. If it doesn't, that may explain why they look sharper in Aperture.
 
Both imported RAW with no work done on either,the Aperture just looks sharper on screen.It makes the Lightroom pics look soft:thinking:
 
As Jim says, Aperture has preset adjustments for most cameras and applies these automatically as soon as you load the picture to work on it. These presets are found at the top of the 'Adjustment' tab in the section 'Raw Fine Tuning'. This will account for why the picture looks different in Aperture.

Is their anyway i can get the lightroom pics to look as good?????
 
Easy. Have a look at the adjustments made under the "RAW Fine Tuning" section in Aperture, and apply similar adjustments to the images in LR (you'll need to play around a little to get the same affect).
Once you've got the pic looking similar, save the adjustments as a preset in LR and then apply to all your otehr pictures.
 
Lightroom rendering will look softer if you view at fit/fill sizing. Try 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4 and you should see the images sharpen up.

To make adjustments you need to use 1:1 view to see the impact as you make changes.
 
It does look sharper with the 1:1,i thought their might be some setting that would make the previews look sharper right after import just like Aperture?
