Lightroom 6 slow loading

My computer comprises an i7-2600@3.4GHz, with 16GB ram, 1TB boot/programs disk, 320GB documents disk & 2TB photo storage disk .

I have installed Lightroom 6, but it seems to load slower compared to version 4.
Do other users have this problem?
The Catalog is on my boot disk, is there any other settings I need to change?

My Lightroom CC took ages to load on my older Mac with standard HDD. Now I have a SSD it loads within seconds. I must load a lot of stuff from disk.

Trying turning off the GPU acceleration in the settings

My GPU acceleration was off. GPU acceleration would not have anything to do with startup speeds. It's only used in the develop module.

What graphics card/size.
Also not a real shocker that 6 takes longer than 4 tbh....but how much are you reckoning? As you say it "seems" to take longer have you timed them?....

LR6 is a lot slower than LR4, there are post like this all over the net and it doesn't seem to matter if you have an ubber super fast computer or not. I noticed the difference with mine too and it gets even more horrible when editing a file with the grad tool and erassing some of it with the brush so as not to apply the grad to trees or buildings.
