This week I upgraded from LR5 to 6. I'm having an issue in the develop module where I can delete a photo hitting delete key only once, move to the next photo and the key doesn't respond unless I come out the module and go back in again. The same with arrow keys. Anyone else had this issue?

Have you tried reinstalling from scratch?

Why are you trying to delete in the Develop module?

Use the Library Module, you can easily flag images as rejects and delete/remove all at once.

It is an install from scratch, not a LR update. A completely separate install. I ran the update just now and it was fine for 10 minutes then the same. I have gone back to LR5 and it's fine.

But I can't even use arrow keys either to skip from photo to photo unless I come out of develop and go back in again. Then I can use the arrow key until I make a change and it's unresponsive again.

Use the Library Module, not the Develop Module... The Library Module is where you manage your images, not the Develop Module.

I understand that but I often use copy and paste and move through my images using the arrow keys. I don't want to have to flick back modules to do that?

Can you move through your images using the film strip?

Only until I make a change to the photo, then the delete and arrow keys don't work. I can then use the delete key on my keyboard number pad once then the same. It's hugely frustrating

Just tried to replicate your problem with no avail, I am on mac though.

Have you tried rebuilding preferences? (Check online how to do this)

I had that happen with 5.7, but can't remember what the fix was - sorry.

Click back on the film strip. Keyboard focus does not stay latched on the film strip when you click on other parts of the UI.

Is this a new thing because I have currently gone back to editing on LR5.7 and it's working fine. I think I will just carry on with 5.7 for now and then try the subscription version at a later date.

Keyboard focus switches to the active component, that's always been the case. You may have altered the priority by moving some of the screen UI elements around or turning things off?

Thanks for the replies, I gave up in the end. I couldn't find a fix. It wasn't just happening when I moved a slider it would happen if I clicked the film strip hit delete and then tried to arrow to the next photo. I had to click each thumb nail again to re-activate delete or the arrow key (if that makes sense). This does not happen on my 5.7 I can flick through delete, make changes move across to the next picture delete again and so on.

So thanks for the help, I've just gone back to 5.7 for now and got my money back on 6. I might re-visit it another time when I have spare time :)
