Lightroom 5 trial, upgrade add key later?

I have a licensed copy of Lightroom 4 installed, I want to buy the upgrade to 5 from Amazon.
Can I download the trial from Adobe (Is that even still possible with all there cloud stuff?) then license it with the key from the Amazon purchase when it turns up?

yes - I did just that. Instal it as stand alone from the trial & then when you add the key from your upgrade edition it will just check you have LR4 installed too. If you don't anymore it'll prompt you for the LR4 key too
