Lightroom 5 problem

Hi,

I went out on a shoot yesterday and came back and downloaded images.

To my absolute shock LR only downloaded thumbnail previews and said that the file numbers couldn't be read.

Anyone else had this and resolved the problem? If so please could you state what steps you took.

Would probably be helpful if you said what camera and if you were shooting Raw and whether you changed the default file naming as in the camera. Also was the card formatted in camera before use?
 
Do you mean lr is only displaying thumb nails? If so try pressing D to go into the develop module and display full size previews.
 
Bypass LR and copy the files into a folder, and then browse for the files in LR. Hopefully any previous problem was a LR import problem.

You can choose what size you want to render the imported files at, Minimal, Embeded + Sidecar, Standard or 1:1. 1:1 will take the longest to import.
 
Thanks for the replies.

All sorted - it was an import setting within Lightroom which I had accidentally changed at some stage.

The photos I thought I had lost have now been downloaded, not just the previews.
