Lightroom 5. 7 windows 7 64bit SD card import issues

as the thread title says. im using LR 5.7.1 and no matter what i do cannot get the auto import from SD card to work. dont know if its an LR thing or windows 7 issue ( though it did work on previous Lightroom.

tried the preferences and have it set on auto import from SD. gone into control panel and autoplay in windows but in the drop down list it only has lightroom 5.0 listed and there i think may be the problem. ive tried searching through the registry to see if i can change this but its a minefield, also tried setting it to default but when i put sd card in it reverts to LR 5.0 again which leads me to think its the windows autoplay thats the problem pointing me to something thats no longer there. kind of stuck now as cant find anywhere how to change it.

It does sound like the windows autoplay. Sorry, I have no suggestions to fix that, but as a work around you could copy/paste images manually, then import, which is the method I prefer.

well ive finally fixed it.. im using windows 7 premium which has no gpedit.msc built in so had to first download a patch to add that, then enable and disable some settings, then add two registry entries, then add a new command to change where auto play points to ( lightroom 5.7 and not 5.1 ) via some 3rd party software. then disable and re- enable both Lr preferences and autoplay preferences in LR and control panel repsectively, change a command line in the registry to point to LR 5.7 , reboot 3 times during the process and now finally when i put in sd card LR pops up and i can import automatically! phew!!! what a headache
