Lightroom 5 £65 @PCWorld

Just ordered Lightroom 5 from PC World, still £65 using code AD65.

Q? I wonder what happens if you have to do a complete rebuild of your pc, the lot, operating system, and Lightroom 5, but in the case of LR there's no disc. (Come to think about it, I haven't got the ruddy discs for the operating system, ha!)

You can download it again from the Adobe site, no problem at all. I've done this a few times when I've rebuilt or even moved from machine to machine (PC to Mac and back again).

Can you install this version of LR on to two machines? It was clear on LR3 and LR4 that the licence was valid for two machines as long as they're both yours, but I can't see the same condition on the PCW page - it says '1 licence'. There seemed to be no clear answer on Adobe's site, so I thought I'd check here.

Me too, ordered 3 hrs back, still nothing :-(

Assuming you have both checked you junk mail?

Yes Tom!

I had to register for an account and got confirmation email and got the email receipt saying my order is being processed and will shortly receive an email with download instructions!

I'm wondering if they have had some kind of major IT issue as it got the better of me and I rang the contact number and got an engaged tone!

I would have thought a company as big as PC World would have gone to a standard "your call is important to us your in a queue" not an engaged tone!

Nothing in junk mail either, I'll try phoning PC World tomorrow.

I too had to register an account and I received an email informing me my order was being processed. In the mean time I'm trying to get to grips with Windows 8, how intuitive can a user interface be - not!

Spoke to PC World!

They can see my order but apparently it's awaiting authorisation!

Which may take up to 48hrs!

Same response for me, PCW said it could take up to 48 hrs. First of all I was informed it was cancelled, then when I told them that they had my money, I was told, I will actually be getting LR5, but it needs authorisation by the back room, whoever they are.

Thanks. Just ordered and got the download link within 10 mins.

It says to go to the MyDownloads section of your PC World account page so if you haven't got the email it might be worth checking there anyway.

Just done this!

It just says my order is being processed!:bang:

Just have to wait until tomorrow to see if my order gets processed with in the 48 hours they told me it will take!:bang:

Thanks for this, was half way through the 30 day trial and going to purchase anyway. Nice to get 37 quid off. :)

I did exactly what hzv5wk said, ie signing into my account and bingo, I now have LR5 installed, great, many thanks, I could have been waiting yonks for PC World to send me an e-mail.
All I have to do now is learn to use Lightroom!! I'm a first time user.

Just logged in,no links still says order is being processed!

They've got 2 hours left of the 48hrs I suppose!:bang:

It seems to be a bit hit and miss with PCW. When I rang them yesterday they said the order was cancelled, I was passed on to another helper and then told it was ok again. I've volunteered to provide customer feedback which hopefully will benefit others in the future.
Anyone know whether you can down load it again, eg if your hard drive fails and a complete reinstall is required? logically it should be possible as long as you have the product key.

As long as you have the product key, you can download from another source, such as Adobe directly.

That's been my experience so far - if I need a reinstall, I've downloaded the latest version for which I have a product key.

I've been running the trial for a few weeks. One piece of advice is don't do anything until you've done some tutorial videos, nothing is obvious!

I got sent here http://thelightroomlab.com/ when I asked in the post processing area on TP. It's aimed at LR4 but works just as well for 5.

That's a bummer, mate, I must have been one of the last few to get it at the discounted price.
Thanks 'nikonuser' and 'the goblin' for the tutorial links, got some work on my hands!

Looking back it was a lot easier with a proper 'Lightroom' negatives and enlarger and those lovely chemicals, and the mystique of seeing an image appear under safe light conditions!

Sorry and thanks too to 'Quoth, the Raven', yeah that makes absolute sense regarding future downloads if required.
Cheers

It's taken me weeks to figure out the basics and get everything set up. But now I'm getting to grips with the import/export and I'm very impressed.

Adobe tv is also shown for links. I learnt a lot last night from a seven minute video! Obviously it took me an hour to watch add I kept pausing, rewinding and practicing :bonk:

I made the step earlier in the year & realised it would be a long learning curve - which it was. But well worth it as I use it 90% of the time for my PP. How did I cope before with CS4 & PE10 & not forgetting Picasa.

You're so right that you need to watch tutorials & keep pausing to try what you see.
