Lightroom 4

Can anyone explain why the folders tab on left hand side shows the folders in alphabetical order. I have lightroom set to import images into folders on my hard drive by year, month, day. Both year and day are fine as they are sorted as I would like them to but month is sorted in alphabetical order (April, February, January, June, march, May) rather than calendar months.

Is there any way to change Lightroom 4 to sort by calendar months rather than alphabetical?

Just had a look, and I can't see a way to change the order. I don't use LR to import my images, but create my own folders, with the date in reverse + subject, 2013-07-05-Party for example. All the folders are put into date order in Windows, and in LR once they are imported because LR reads the sequence in order.

If nobody comes up with a solution to your problem you could rename your folders to 01-January, 02-February or A-January, B-February etc, then the folders should be in order because LR doesn't seem to know an October from a December, only letters and number in order. :shrug:

Thats quite a good idea renaming the folders. I usually rename the day folder of its the date and place, as it just makes it a little quicker to find images from a shoot.

Here's my solution, which I've been using since 2000, long before Lightroom appeared....

Thanks for everyone's help, I decided that rename each folder with 01, 02, 03 etc in front of the months name was the easiest way to get what I wanted to do. As I upload new images every month I will have to keep on adding this extra bit but it takes up very little time so its not a problem.
