How much better is Lightroom 5 compared to 4, is it worth the £60ish upgrade?

I use Lightroom 4 heavily for both part time paid work and personal photos organisation, and recently discovered how to use the develop module to make my images pop a bit more. It is fairly indispensable for my photos if that helps a bit

Cheers :)

I recently looked at this. 5 has some good improvements in its functionality vs 4 from what I've seen but I'd be tempted to stick with 4 for a while longer and jump to 6 when it is released as rumour has it that it'll be out summer this year.

As above, if it does what you need stick with it. You could download a 30 day trial to see if it help before you decide.

Check out Adobe's upgrade rules. I seem to remember a comment when 5 came out that going forward you would only be able to upgrade +1 version, i.e. 5 to 6 would be ok, but not 4 to 6, etc.

Aimed at people like me (and I suspect there are lots) who miss out every other (or more) versions, models, etc.

I do the same with my camera kit as I tend to look at most version/model changes as being more evolutionary than revolutionary.
