Lightroom 4 help.

I have just started doing photo editing and have gone with Lightroom 4. I have managed to import images and had a play around editing them.

My problem is I can't view or upload any images outside Lightroom. I'm using a new laptop the runs on Windows 8, so I'm still learning the ropes of this OS.

I know I may have been a little vague, but I'm not the most tech savvy person so please bear with me.

Any ideas?
 
I think you're going to have to be more detailed, don't need to be tech just describe what you want to do and what's not happening.

If its just viewing your photos outside of LR, if the are Raw images you'll need a windows plugin to view them, well you do on Win 7.
If you just can't find them look at your folder locations in the library then go to the same place, I believe the default is my pictures.

I imported a few raw files, these I can view and edit these in Lightroom. I can see there location on my HD and when I go to view them I just get the blank icon. It says they are DNG files.

I also tried to upload to Flickr.
