I've ran into a problem importing from SD card to Lightroom 4.0 on an iMac.

On 2 separate imports now the import has taken place and it has not imported all images on the SD card. On a single import, there is a mix of RAW and JPG that are missing.

LR Preferences are set to treat JPG images separately and it is set to not import suspected duplicates.

This has happened twice now. Anyone come across this before? Any ideas?

How does the Lightroom engine decide what a suspected duplicate is?

I've found how to get around the problem for now but not an actual reason or fix for it.

The problem appears to be with what it sees on the card initially.

When you click on import and select the card from the 'Devices' section of the 'Source' panel it only sees some of the images.

If however I select the card from the 'Files' section of the 'Source' panel all files on the card are recognised.

I can then go back and select the card from the devices section of the 'Source' panel and it still sees all of the files.
