I have always used Geosetter to add my GPS metadata to my RAW files before I did any post processing in Lightroom. I'm sure I read it can be done directly by Lightroom 4, which I now have, but having searched the help files I can't find anything on this.

Can anybody help? or did I just misread something and LR4 can't actually do it?

Thanks

Pete

Lightroom 4 has the map module that allows you to do this.

You can drag images off of the filmstrip onto the map and LR4 will automatically geocode them to match where you dropped them. Obviously this requires you to know the correct location and then search for and find it in the map module first.

There is also a feature to import a track log into Lightroom but I haven't tried doing this yet so I can't give any more details I'm afraid.

Thanks for replying Matt, but it's your second option I'm looking for help with, applying the metadata from a track log (*.gpx file) from my handheld Garmin GPS.

Map->Load tracklog-> the Auto-Tag Photos (same menu). You may have to mess with timezones and offsets but you get the idea ;)

Thanks very much Andy,

Did it at home last night, worked perfectly, no messing around with time zones, (well, my piccies were in the uk) or offsets.

Thanks again.
