I have downloaded some Lightroom 3 plugins could someone please assist me in actually installing the buggers :amstupid:

Are you talking proper plug-ins like Photomatix Pro, or presets like the free ones from lightroom killer tips?

In windows xp it's normally in
c/drive/documents and settings/your name/application data/adobe/lightroom/ develop presets in there you'll see user presets and lightroom presets, just put the new presets in the main develp preset folder, you can put them in a sub folder called new presets (or whatever) if you wish. next time you start LR they should show up with the other presets then.

Thank you kind sir

How would you add NIk Silver/Colour EFEX Pro or Photomatix Pro as a Lightroom 3 preset would that be different.
Thanks
Dave

Those are plug-ins, not presets, and they should automatically install when you install the applications. You should find them under File > Plug-in Extras.

For other plug-ins, such as Jeffrey Friedl's Metadata Wrangler or Timothy Armes LR/Mogrify 2, you should download and extract to a folder (I created a folder called Lightroom Plugins in my Catalog folder). Once you have extracted the plug-in you can then go to File > Plug-in Manager to install, license (if necessary), and configure them.

Thanks Barry
