Okay...as per title, Lightroom 3 or 4? Is there much of a difference?

I can get Lightroom 3 for £75 or Lightroom 4 for £100. Although for myself the £25 difference might be pennies to some, but to me its's a lot of money.

Woud I really benefit from Lightroom 4 over 3?

Many thanks in advance

LR3 has had its bugs ironed out whereas LR4 has some that need to be ironed out. LR4 is more future-proof as its the most up to date.
I prefer the Develop Module of LR4 but others don't. There are some new modules in LR4, Map and Book. If you never want to geotag your images or produce a book then these become irrelevant.
I don't know if you can still download a trial of LR3 but it would make sense to download the trial of LR4 and see what you think.

To me the maps and book modules were worth the upgrade, but where LR4 really shines is the develop module, images processed with the new process version are noticeably better, especially in the highlights and shadows. There have be some LR3/LR4 comparisons posted in some of the other LR4 threads that might be worth looking at.

Thankyou both :) Have decided to go for LR4 and pay extra £25 :)

Good choice. LR4 is a massive improvement over LR3 IMO, I'd only ever used the LR3 trials, much preferred Aperture until LR4 came out, and now the tables have turned.
