Hi guys

I just wanted to know if when you shoot tethered straight into lightroom 3, the numbers given to each photo as they are taken will remain as its name if you say transfer images to cd or save to hard drive etc.

Im shooting an event and I need to label each photo so the clients can come back and collect their photo without confusion.

A voucher will be issued to the client with lightrooms suggested sequence as soon as the image is taken.
I just hope that the images keep this sequence no matter where you transport the images......can you help please????

The first box of the Tethered dialog allows you to choose the identifier for the image and then the start number of the sequence. So if you want the image to have the file name " Portrait Shoot" this is what you type in, then simply type the start number i.e. 100.

The first shot will be Portrait Shoot 100, the next Portrait Shoot 101..... This is the file name and stays with the file unless it is changed by someone.

This is the file name that appears on the file. So each time the sitter changes you'll need to change that identifier. If that's the way you want to work. Alternatively just leave the sequence as it is

The alternative would be to select the images post shoot, just as the sitter has left and use the rename function ( F2) to rename that group of images. You can select a group and rename them and that will update the file name. This may be quicker and easier.

Try out both before the event and see which works. I'd also keep a written list of the order each was taken, so that if things do go wrong you can identify sitters form that list. ( Belt and Braces)
