Lightroom 2 & 3 help please

Need a bit of help here.

I used to use Lightroom 2, then upgraded to Lightroom 3.

I started editing all my shots in Lightroom 3, then I stupidly uploaded a few sets of images into Lightroom 2 and went through and edited them all, doh.

What I want to know is how can I transfer all the libraries from Lightroom 2 and merge them into Lightroom 3 without affecting the library that is currently in Lightroom 3?

I guess I should of done this before starting to use Lightroom 3 but I was a bit too keen lol.

Upgrade the LR 2 catalogue to LR3 catalogue - in LR3
Open your LR3 catalogue - import from the newly conveted catalogue into your main catalogue in LR3
Uninstall LR2!!

I suspect your old LR2 library is now your LR3 library..you could try exporting the images you inadvertently imported into LR2 as a catalogue, and then try importing that catalogue to LR3. However their may be fields that may not alight with the later catalogue so it may fail.

You could try though in LR2 to save the info in the metadata. you need to add the " Automatically write changes to metadata" option to the catalogue settings. Once done you could then import the files to LR3 where it can then read the metadata and add that information to the catalogue
