Did anyone install the 2.1 Beta from Adobe Labs? And if you did, are you now getting this error message when trying to start Lightroom?

I can't see any easy way to remove the Beta software without removing Lightroom 2 in its entirety. Which is useful.

Why not just install the official version over the top as its been out of beta for yonks?

Perhaps you have misunderstood. I have Lightroom 2. This was the RC Beta of Lightroom 2.1 from Adobe Labs. You were invited to install it to test out some of the bugfixes that Adobe had come up with before it would be released to the public in the form of an official patch.

Now it's expired and I can't find a way to remove it in order to get Lightroom 2 working again.

I'm afraid so. It's obviously doing what it's meant to as I can see the changes it's making to the system but the error message still persists.

I'll try a roll-back to yesterday and see if I can trick the beta into not timing out.

There's a patch on the Adobe website I'm sure of it.
There was one for Photoshop, and I'm sure there's one for Lightroom too.

If you mean this one, I've tried it and it works as I can see it making changes to my system but the Beta time-out message seems to be wanting to take precedence.

A quick roll-back and a few minor changes have removed the Beta so I can hopefully carry on with LR2.1 in peace.

I won't beta test for adobe after CS3 beta, when the proper version came out you couldn't install it over the beta, and you couldn't uninstall the beta! crazy, they had to make an uninstall tool to remove the beta. Wayne
