Lighting the sky at night!

1. go a little bit earlier and you will get some of the sky without to much of a fuss
2. a few more exposures and make an hdr (different layers in ps and not the cartoonish ones )
3. would recommend some more creative points of view (better angles )

but they look ok in any case, keep it up !

You might have a bit more luck with a longer exposure (few seconds at least) and a tripod. It won't make a huge difference though.

Hi Stuart

Not sure why you're getting such dark skies around Stockton on Tees?.....It has to be one of the most light polluted areas I've ever been to!

You've certainly got some good shots on your Flickr and worth showing..... If you post the shots on here I'm sure you'll get a better response as some people don't like following links.

I'm not sure if he's asking how to light up the sky rather than just naming the set of photos "Lighting the sky at night"? And generally asking for tips and critiques on those photos.

Look pretty good to me, though I'd use a longer exposure and a tripod at a smaller aperture to sharpen them up a bit and lose the traces of noise :)
