Ok so i think its time i took the next step and tried to learn about lighting.

I want to start simple using one sppedlight, as i think it would just confuse me trying to much at first and i already have 2 x yongnuo 560ll with the wire triggers.
was thinking of a soft box, umbrella, 5 in 1 reflector and the stand.

but the stand is where im stuck, all the ones ive seen only seem to be vertically adjustable and i would like to be able to use it with over head light ( horizontal ) if that makes sense.
so is there a reasonably priced one that will allow me to use it over head?

cheers in advance

mat

You need a boom arm to go on the stand. Price varies a lot. How much you wanting to spend?

tbh i didnt want to spend much if possible, i was hoping to find out if i like it then i would buy a decent setup if i did
good thing is i have a young neighbour who loves photography and has my old dslr (think she is 9) and i will pass all the cheaper stuff onto her so seems a good idea to me lol

When I started I had a cheap softbox (umbrella will do to start) a flexible spigot thingy to adjust the angle and a reflector. As a starting point it was fine.

You can learn and achieve a lot with that set up. The softbox will have more control than a shoot through umbrella but you can still achieve a lot with it.
