I am in need of some advice hopefully from someone who has experience in this area.

In the next few weeks I am renovating a room below a new photo studio, I'm converting

it into a changing and makeup room. The plan is to wall mount two large mirrors side

by side above a worktop.

I need advice on the type of lighting to use around the mirrors. Over the last couple

of years all the one's I see on television and in publications all vary in some way.

Is there a good lighting type that is ideal for makeup etc. or more importantly is

there a poor design/type that makes it difficult for makeup application.

I would also be interested to know if you think the lighting design does not really

matter just as long there is plenty of it.

Thanks in advance for any help.

From speaking to several mua's on the subject previously, I've been advised the mirrors with lights all the way around are ideal. Ideally daylight balanced.

Danny, Thanks for the tips, I wondered if daylight balanced is the way to go.

Jonathan, Thanks for the link, some useful pics there. 25w bulbs fitted is worth knowing and

also I didn't think of free standing mirrors either which is another option, making them usable

in other areas.
