Yes
Can anyone recommend an intermediate workshop anywhere from the east midlands to London?
I've already asked Garry but that won't be available till next spring.

Thanks for the info guys. Doe/ any of the course cover commercial work?

removed the commercial self promotion posts. Anyone wanting to advertise please use the contact staff button for appropriate rates.

Dod, where is that section on the iPad, I can't see it, thanks.

Teresa when you say commercial work, what do you mean, people, product etc.? as each ca have a different bearing on the course and its suitability, because although there are many so called lighting courses very few are doing anything other than portraiture and having seen the results from a fair few I personally would not rate most if you have more than enough knowledge to switch the lights on.

Mike

Ok then Dod, can I recommend ?

Mike, yes, I have knowledge in portrait lighting. Ali, thanks.
Maybe I need to a bit more research as well.

Actually, no, you can't. As he said he's doing the courses along with you it's a joint venture. That means you're also self promoting so the same rules apply to you, if you want to advertise contact admin.

Actually Dod, Gary and I have not started anything yet so right now I am only recommending him as a trainer. As and when we do I will, of course, let you know and I will be more than happy to comply with the rules regarding advertising.

So as it stands right now I just want you to know I'm actually not trying to get round the rules, I don't even advertise in my tag line *** I is good. :)

Having experienced Gary Hill's training style recently on a week residential in Buxton with a number of other photographers and even more recently on a 1-2-1 in the studio I would most certainly recommend him - not only does he knows his lighting stuff he is also a damn fine trainer putting things simply and effectively even if he doesn't quite know the rules here yet ;)

You recommended his service, you work, or are intending working with him. No matter how you tart that up it's advertising, or trying to.

However, continuing this here isn't the done thing, but I might just move over to your other self promotional.

Dod by what twist of your imagination are you saying that me recommending someone completely independently is in any way advertising?

I may or may not be allowing Gary the use of my studio next year, that may or may not have anything to do with the membership on here but if it is it will be by coincidence. Simon just happened to be shooting with us last week, are you now going to say Simon can't recommend Gary just because he happened to be shooting in my Studio with him one day?

You really are being awfully tenuous here Dod, I'm spelling it out. The studio is not finsihed being built, as yet there ARE no course and IF and when there are you will be asked IF we choose to advertise here. Right now I'm not even remotely tempted if that is going to be your attitude to potential revenue for you.
