Saw some of my aftershave bottles in a line and given they have either different coloured glass or liquid, it would be cool to get a photo of the bottles in a dark room with only the colours lit/glowing.

Tried OCF at varying distances and power, including home made diffusers but it was far too strong. Any suggestions?

Red Green Blue by SFB579 :), on Flickr

The above was done with a simple LED circular cupboard light. Place the perspex from a photo frame supported by a few books on each side so you can place the light source below. Camera, tripod and dark room. add the reflection in Photoshop.

...add the reflection in Photoshop.
You really should redo the reflections as you appear to have rotated the bottles through 180 degrees to make the reflections, rather than flipping them correctly - look at the text on the bottles to see the mistake.

I'm going to make one of these as soon as I find tissue paper.

I've always wondered what it would be like to have a chocolate fireguard, but common sense has always stopped me finding out:)
I'm after something similar without the specular highlights of the bottles themselves. I basically want eerie glowing liquid in a black/dark environment.
Easily done using darkfield lighting

Very easily done using darkfield lighting, but only if you know what it is, which I don't so would be very difficult :)

See the link I posted, post 2

I had a quick read Garry. Could I use a speedlite in a softbox instead of a continuous light?
I didn't use a continuous light, I used a studio flash.
But the answer is yes, any light source will do - light is light.
