Lighting a light box

Expect the answer will be "it depends on what you are going to be shooting", but generally could anyone advice on lighting the box. For instance would two 500w lights on either side be too much?. Really would appreciate some advice, dont want to go and buy lights then find out there is too much light.

A light box is a single attached item for one light head. Some larger Rectangle ones are for twin or Tube.

Do you mean a LastoLite Hi- Lite?

Definately dont mean that, never heard of one of those!! When i say light box it is perhaps called a light tent, just a box with different backgrounds etc.
That still doesnt sound very clear

If you mean something like this you can use any light really, just take a custom WB before you start and remember that the more powerful the light, the higher the shutter speed you can use.

For product shots and table top work?

use 1/2 or 3 lights depends on what effect you want....

Remember to meter and not use on full at that close distance........
